Lavender Lemonade

In the summer it’s easy to want something cool and refreshing to drink.  I always think about sitting on a big front porch in a rocking chair sipping on lemonade after a long day of hard work. Lavender lemonade-what a refreshing treat.

I love to add a little sprig of lavender for color but it is amazing that I don’t  really even need it if I don’t have it, say in the winter months, because of using strong and potent, pure essential oil that can be ingested. The tart lemon and the hint of sweetness from the sugar along with the calming flavor of lavender becomes a power packed combination. You’ll be the favorite belle at the ball if you bring this recipe to the next family or neighborhood get together.

1 ¼ C freshly squeezed lemon juice
½ c local raw honey
1 drop doTERRA Lavender essential oil
2 drops doTERRA lemon essential oil
6 ½ C of filtered or spring water

In a sauce pan bring to boil 2 cups of the water. Remove from burner. Add honey and mix till dissolved.
Let stand till room temperature. Add lemon juice, and essential oils. Mix and then add the other 4 and ½ cups of water. Place in pitcher in fridge till cold and serve over ice. Add a wedge of lemon for decoration.
